I am wondering about the felt in the windows on my 4104, when it rains the slides for the windows fill with water, will replacement felt resolve this or is there something else in the slide to seal the window. Also does anyone know the trick for removing the windows from the slides, I removed the stopper and tried to remove the glass at different spots on the slide with no luck. |

Gerald- There should be one or more drain holes somewhere on the outside of the slider frame. They do plug up over time. Unplug the holes and the water should flow out. GOOD LUCK. ARTHUR |

Check with glass shops, they are usually very helpful in locating goodies. Blessings, David PD4104-2977 Winton, CA. |

Remove the 2 top screws from the angled bar on the window. The windows will come out after the top 2 screws are removed. |

Gerald, the drain holes are at the bottom of the frame the windows slide in. They drain into the space under that hinged aluminum frame. On my bus someone had tightly caulked the gap around that swing out frame causing the water to drain inside the bus. I had to cut a couple of holes in the sealer at the bottom to let the water out & the problem went away. (AFTER ruining my wall paneling & rotting the floor!) Jim-Bob |

Thanks, the drain holes are most likely my problem along with the metal & rubber piece that goes on the sliding windows, I am sealing the windows so they dont swing out and replacing the rubber seals with a rubber sealant, the sealant is 1/4 thick at the back so normal drainage shouldn't be a problem and I wont need the rubber inserts that extend into the interior. I am leaving the hinges on in case we ever need to get them open. I will clean out the drains or make new ones if needed. Thanks again. One other question, on the actual windows I see a rubber insert in the frame of the induvidual windows, is the something I can replace with a generic rubber or is there something special I need for it, I considered ordering all the correct parts from Luke at US Coach but it would be pretty expensive for all the windows and they dont have all the parts needed. |
