I am trying to remove the front cam bearing on my 8v71. The first one came off with little trouble the second one I cann't move it at all. The triangle bearing holder is to close to the block to get a traditional wheel\bearing puller under it to get it off. Has anyone had this problem and how did you finaaly get it removed Thanks Carl |

I think you need a special tool. It will allow you to remove the bearings and also install the new ones. I don't think you can do the work without the tool. |

There should be no special tool needed. I assume you are having trouble with the dry bearing (opposite water pump). There is a gasket behind that bearing and it was probably glued down on both sides. If you look closely you will see some little notches midway between the bolt holes. A little crowfoot bar and GENTLE tapping should get it moving. Good luck Guy 4905 |
