looks like they finally got a bus out and finished! well, I'm not sure if this one is complete or just a mockup for pictures, but either way, its a nice change from the grainy warehouse pics they had.

honestly, I don't like it so far, but it might grow on me(not that I even have the $$ for one anyway, ha). that paint job just kills me though. maybe someone should call and remind them its an Eagle, not a Prevo. :-)

I think it will grow on me too. The paint scheme seems a little too feminine for me, tribal flames would be cool. Don't care for the square corners but overall I think it's pretty nice.

As I understand, this one is already sold and is being shipped as a shell to a converter to finish out for an undisclosed entertainer. Note the five foot tall front glass. We found out that entertainers don't like to stoop over to see down the road so Eagle has been able to accomodate them. I think that Craig would like nothing better than to have a Prevost be compared to the Eagle 25.

paint job does not bother me.......still looks like a Mockup...and Butt Ungly Too Boot.

nothing like a big box.......Although I am not an Eagle fan, they used to have some styling...this things looks nare better than most high end Sticks and staples.

Curious why the new owner is Undisclosed.......yet another poor business move.......the first one should be publicised out the ying yang.......it would not cost or hurt the New owner unless it is all BS.

Wow Doug, that's pretty harsh don't you think? What exactly have YOU done to impress the bus community? I see in your pics a GM and MCI. Where's your Eagle that makes you an authority on them at?

Give the guy a break will you? He's done more than anyone else has to bring back the Eagle whether it LOOKS like you think it should or not! Having parts alone is a giant step for the Eagle owners!

Geez... another deleted post!

Gee Ace,

Just stating my opinion...never said I did anything for the bus community or to bring the Eagle Back.

from the past post about them seems alot of people share my feelings on the look or design.

Also never stated to be an Eagle Authority although I have my fare share of exposure to them......and I did like the eagle up through the 10.

Although you may not agree with my blunt critique, that is the nice thing about public forums and is the place to post such things.

Once again we will see where it goes from here.

Note: From my looks at the photos...looks to be the same one in the factory shots but in paint. Still no windshield and still no door latches unless they are some internal electronic gizmo......which may be the case.

Huge style points loss using round headlights on a square box. I think I know what his intention was....but it doesn't work on any level that I can see.

well here is my 2 cents worth. I would like to see the price first and make sure my hospital insurance is paid in full.next round headlights? Na! The paint is ok what I don't like is the front. That ain't an eagle But I can't afford it anyway probably

It looks like the drive axle is back in the middle. Should help the turning radius.

This is a small operation apparently working very slowly. You have got to admire his effort in a very competitive business. When I get back to Brownsville in November, I'll stop by again and see how they are coming.

I agree James .. it's a small operation and that's why it has to be better than Prevost. Most converter don't want to buy a coach that the manufacture can't support long term, go broke again.

IMHO the fit and finish is not 1st class. If you stuck a new Prevo XL11 beside it you would see the difference.

I know, I started the post, but here's my extra $0.01:
awe may not all appreciate blunt criticism, but I can see where doug is coming from. it looks like.....well....a box. no denying it. I've been a supporter of craig and the crew since the website first went up, but I can't say I agree with the design choice. it seems like its trying too hard to look like a prevost XLII. not that the new Prevos aren't pretty, but the body of an Eagle is what gives it its individuality. all you gotta do is show me the first 3 feet of a bus and ill tell you if its an Eagle. but then again I'm not the one w/ the cajones to re-introduce a classic and beloved company into a marketplace along with companies as dominant as Prevost and MCI.....
and doug, thank you so much for siding with me on the headlights. they look great on an '04, but really odd on a bus with mostly vertical lines...

fwiw I called them today asking, and they said this bus has the powertrain installed(CAT w/ an Eaton Autoshift) but they have yet to install the wiring harness' so it hasn't run as of yet. they just towed it out of the warehouse for pictures.

That paint job is an attempt to hide the fact that it is a huge slab sided box, just like most big S&S you see on the road. The SS bottom helps a lot, too bad it doesn't go higher.

No Dash in it either

Thanks for supporting my criticism,

I am not putting the guy down for his attempts, but he is not saving the eagle company, he created a new one using Eagle suspension and Namesake. Otherwise he would have names it Eagle.

The thing just does not look thought out from the design aspect.

with that said I'd be happy to give you my critisism of any number of vehicles that have been on the market or are on the market.....

Don't get your panties in a wad......it happens every day in car and motorcycle magazines and those guys pay for advertising in magazines that shoot "insults" at their product.........but they still sell them.

If craig is smart he will have another of the trade magazines out there ASAP they get the thing operating....so it can be reviewed properly.

Yes, it doesn't look the best, but a straight sided coach is easiest to do a conversion with. A lot of coaches don't have straight sides which makes a conversion more difficult.

My understanding is that passenger coaches, if any, that Silver Eagle builds will be the same as the classic Eagles. They have the original molds and such for the Eagles. Supposedly they can skip having the buses crash tested by using the original design.

The shells don't need to be crash tested so they don't need to use the original design.

That thing is HUGE. The wheels look undersized for the vehicle.

I'm sure it is very functional but it lacks any kind of style.

I, too, commend Craig and his crew for their efforts.

The Eagle was always the favorite entertainer coach due to it's Torsilastic suspension, so it's nice to see that feature back on the market.

As for the styling, let me share an analogy: Honda Odessey, Toyota Sienna, Dodge Caravan - all mini-vans, yet they all look different. So it is with MCI, Prevost and now Eagle - they're all buses, yet they all look different.

I think one of the things that skews the views of this new coach is the fact that it's got a raised roofline, which throws the proportions off slightly. Same thing happens to an MC-9 when you raise the roof, and nobody seems to squabble about those.

Personally, I'll reserve judgment until I see the completed product.

FWIW & HTH. . .

:-)

Niles that is probably propriatary....LOL

Painted uncompleted prototype is the answer.

also noted there is no windsield, no dash and no internal latching mechanism for the bays.

I wouls suspect pictures with more detail were not shared on purpose

There are photos around of several prototype buses, GM and Mack come to mind...that look to be real units.....some of them are mock ups so well done one can not tell from the photo it is a mockup...the fact that it was a mockup is only known because of the people who were there or documentation.

Ones that come to mind are the GM PD 4105 and the Mack MV-620. The Mack Mock up was one sided and only had two rows of interior seats.....
