Suggestions please; I have translucent fiberglass in the hole where my destination sign used to be..was there when I got the bus. Am open to ideas on what to use and how to cover it with paintable surface...
Thanks in advance

R&M Fiberglass makes a cap for your bus - looks really nice, lots of bus's have them.

Located in Turner Oregon, very close to the location of 'Busin' USA' @ Rickreal Oregon.

Mark -

Yup, those caps make the top front look just like a stick 'n staple, great look for a bus. . . And the rear caps really cement the look, too!

(Can you tell I'm being sarcastic? LOL!)

Jim -

Is the destination sign roller mechanism still in place?

If it is, you might want to consider restoring it to OEM and having fun with a new roller screen - they're still available, printed with whatever you like on them.

Luke may be able to help you find replacement glass, or a plastics shop can probably make you one out of Lucite or another of the clear plastics. Luke's number is 1-866-262-2434.

FWIW & HTH. . .

Jim, if you are considering replacing the glass, I still have the glass out of my Neoplan that I'll give you. It might be whittled down to fit.

It is about 85" long and 14" high in the middle, it tapers to about 12" on the end. I live in Portsmouth (fewer than 100 mi.) just east of you.

I'm going to the Concours D'Elegance on Sunday to see the Futureliner and to the FMCA rally on Round Bottom Rd the 14-17 and could bring it with me.

It is safety glass (laminated) and not too dificult to cut. I cut a piece out of one of my side windows to replace a section of my bedroom window. Some glass shops won't mess with it but surely Cinti. has one that will as all the buses there are required to have safety glass. Maybe they just order new.
