All of the ddec codes are removed. There does not appear to be any way to read the ATEC codes or to clear them. One person not on the board thought that it meant that tne ATEC wasn't getting 12 volts but I can't find a way to check it Up for any ideas Thanks Again TVDAD

Tom,

ATEC codes are cleared every time you shift into reverse.

There is definitely a way to read the codes. Worst case, it can be done by a DDA dealer with a code reader. However, all you need is to find the diagnostic connector and the "Check Transmission" light. The wire numbers and connector shapes and pinouts will be in the materials Pete sent you.

One correction on Pete's documents -- IIRC, you have a Neoplan. Neoplan used the "Maximum Feature Throttle Interface," not the simple one. It uses a different set of wires.

Finding the brain for the ATEC will be helpful. Generally, Neoplan mounted these in or near the "Rear Junction Box". It's a brownish-gray box with the Allison logo stamped on it, about the size of a cigar box. There will be two large rectangular connectors at one end. Worst case, find the Canon plug on the tranny, and follow the harness -- it will end at the ATEC control box.

Once you've found that, I can steer you to the 12V inputs for you to check. The box needs an always-on source of 12v, and also a source of 12v from the ignition. The always-on 12V comes from a dedicated circuit breaker in the rear J-box -- you should check these breakers and make sure they are not tripped.

HTH.
