On my 4905 I want to run a rooftop a/c unit off of the bus Generator when underway. To do this I found a Xantrex SW 4024 Inverter. I've had it in the box about 18 months now I would like to use it. Where is the best place to pick up power to go to the inverter? TIA
Andrew

You will get the power from your batterys that the generator is chargeing. The inverter will connect to the batterys with very large cables. The specs with the inverter should show how to hook up and what size cables to use. You will need lots of air around the inverter to keep it cool if you are running large loads, like air.

Hello Andrew.

4/0 wire, short runs.

And you want to carefully inspect the existing coach cables for correct size and condition.

Enclosed in a Bay is not good enough to cool a 4024. It needs some fresh air.

happy coaching!

Thanks, I guess a fan on the 4024 with fresh air source is needed.
Thanks for the tips.
Andrew.

Auuhh..????

Is your PD4905 a 24 volt coach? some were 12 volt or converted to 12 volts.

If yours is a 24 volt then you are OK with the 4024

If it's a 12 volt coach the 4024 will not work.

Sorry, Just confused lately on the Buffalos....

Andrew,
Does your bus still have the original HVAC?
If it's gone or you are going to take it out. The center of the HVAC bay is a great place to mount the SW4024 as the bus batteries are right there next to it. When you add house batteries you can move the bus batteries back to where they are on a 4108, in front of the radiator, and put the house battery where the bus batteries were originally.
