I have no formal training. I wanna know about these pumps. I have a couple pumps to take apart and get some information. My engine is a Cumming NHH found in a 1868 Crown school bus. I thot all the PT pumps are the same. I think the pumps change about the year of 1975, with the 855 cu in and the pump mounted to the rear of the air compressor. My PT pump has a 6 bolt pattern to bolt pump to the front engine cover. Later PT pumps bolt to the air compressor with just 4 bolts. Frank |

Frank, thats a double disc pump if I remember right. My friend Slade built that pump for Cummins to run in the Indy 500 a few years back!(Around the time of the Cival War)! Slade crashed his plane and is no longer available. Sam runs his diesel shop in the Tacoma area (Milton), at this time. Slades original pump man still worked there recently so I guess the knowledge is still there to do a rather awesome old time pump if you need one. Talk to Art 253-838-3030. Don't know who ended up with Slades bus! |

Hey Larry, your advise is excellant. I called the phone number you offered and talked to Art. He gave me some advise and information on the Cummins PT pump. He asked if Larry was still driving a big rig and if you are well. He said he had not heard anything from you is some time. Hey Larry, thank you. If I can, I will give something back to you. Frank, If you want to give something,,,, You could let me tell everyone my 6V92 beat you from Jackpot to Lonepine! Or you could see if you can get Art to give me back my spare 1 inch Cummins gear pump! A word about Art, He builds pumps that will get alot of life out of an engine and is real stubborn about letting someone out the door with the kind of fuel pump that you and I like to sit behind. May the 40 MPH tailwinds bless Mr Crown! |
