I recently purchased a GM 4106 in San Diego, CA . Since I live in North Carolina this was going to be a big undertaking. We hopped on a plane and arrived in San Diego in no time. We went to take a look at our new coach and discovered it was what we were looking for, plus the front tag had an inscription which reads Why settle for bus – like when you can have the real thing” Now the hard part making sure she was ready to make a trip across county. If you saw my earlier posting I was grateful to be referred to Bob Rowsell by several people. Bob has a great crew and he really knows coaches. Bob had his crew jump on my list of repairs in the meantime I was able to pick his mind a little. I would also like to THANK John Vickers and Frank Allen. Both these guys were very helpful at offering directions and their bus knowledge as well as their connections if needed. It is nice to know as “bus nuts” we all seem to look out for and help each other. As you can imagine I was a little nervous about taking a coach I know nothing about on a 2800 mile journey across county. For the most part our trip was uneventful. Some where in New Mexico I decided to open the front part of my drive’s window for some cool night air and it ended up on the highway. We did not get to see much of the country side as we mostly did night driving due the coach ran hot. I am not sure if this was due to only having the original trans cooler. I am probably going to be adding and additional one. Or if its from the original 4106 radiator since the motor was replaced with an 8V 71TA with a V 730 Allison Transmission. We were pleasantly surprised at the few minor issues we had during our trip. The trip was a great way to get to know the coach and all its little aches and pains. Happy Busin To All

That looks like the 4106 we put money down on last fall. We did that conditionally on having a couple more buses to look at on the return trip to Washington. Ended up with a 4107. Was a tough choice. Did you by chance buy it from Jose Gomez? Seemed like a really nice guy. Glad to hear you made the trip without to much drama. |

Very cool bus and happy to hear all went "uneventfull" When I picked up my gm4106 I drove it over 1200 miles with only the governor being stuck twice. now that I have the gm at home is where all the problems arise. (Mmmm wonderring if it is me working on a million things at once |

Mine has a V730 and a radiator/transmission heat exchanger. The PO went from a four core to a seven core radiator, and solved all overheating issues. |

Bob, I am not so surprised the bus trip went so good. What shocks me is you made a successful flight! Just funnin' ya. I sent an email to Bob Rowsell on a "job well done" after your glowing remarks about him. Glad the trip went good, other than impact-testing the window. Guess it failed? JJ |
