I want to replace my rusting metal rear engine doors with fiberglass. I would like to use 1/4" thickness. I have googled myself to death without finding a supplier in Canada. Does anyone know of a supplier?? I need one sheet, 3' x 7' or 4' x 8'. |

you can get 4x10' sheets of powder coated sheet metal with a 35 year warranty for about $60US from any metal supplier dealing with the roofing industry. I plan to re-skin my bus with it. Cut it to size and calk the seams and you don't even need paint. It is commonly used for metal roofs, galvanized on one side, powder coated on the other. |

I used a galvanized 18 guage metal called 'Velvet Coat' to skin my bus. Also used to skin rear doors. Now 10 years later the doors and some panels are rusted. Its almost impossible to 'coat' the surfaces that will rust...for example, each fastening point!! AND we glued it to the frame. I want to replace the rear doors with fibreglass. They are the most in line for water and corrosion. Finding a supplier has become a chore!! |

R & M Fiberglass sells sheets. Not everything is listed on their website (http://www.rm-fiberglass.com ), Phone is 503-743-2211 or 1-800-350-1656 Their website does not seem to get much attention, so I would not go by that. Call the office and get the current info that way. Office hours are Pacific time zone. Craig - MC7 Oregon |
