Today started a new era in my conversion process.

For the first time, since I started this project, I haven't had some welding, body work or painting to do. The paint job is finished, except for the bumpers and they may never get done.

I started putting in my front heat pump-A/C today in preparation for the coming hot weather.
This little project calls for some creative plumbing as they sent 12' of copper pipe and I need 13'.

I guess you will have to add on. I just installed my heat pump and had trouble finding a tubing bender for the half inch stuff. Then since it was R-410A refrigerant I had to make an adapter to evacuate the system. I did have tubinf left over as they sent 16' and I only used 10 Jerry

Ed & Jerry
What brand and model heat pump? What bus do you have? I found the adapters on Ebay but not till after the refrigeration guy brazed on standard fittings onto my line set, so now I have both. I have a Celiera 18,000 BTU/h heat pump in my GM PD4107. I had to cut the case of the outdoor unit down to fit it into the old condensor area. It's a 240 volt unit that I'm powering through an autotransformer from 120. Sure works great, it'll keep the whole bus at 70 when the outside temp is 95 and the bus is in full sun yet it draws only 13 amps max.

Hi Jerry, I bought a unit off ebay called a klimaire and installed it. it is a 1 ton unit on 120v and I tried it out this am as it actually was a bit chilly (55F) so after I fixed my leaks I turned it on and hit auto and set temp to 70F. That thing puts out way more heat than I expected.Had the door and 4 windows open and it still took the bus up to 70 and shut off. Hooray!!!! Jerry

Jerry, both of my heat pumps are 240v. And a little on the small side at 12,000 BTU ea.
I never thought of the autotransformer but like the idea. I'll try one if I have any trouble getting 50 amp. campground power.

My coach is a Neoplan AN 340 (think 102-A3 in size) with a full 2" of polyisocyanurate.
