We buy 20+ year-old buses, well worn to their lug nuts by the commercial outfit that's overused it; run it hard and hot, and put it away wet for more miles/years than we can count....... Then -we- worry ourselves sick about following the manufacturer's instructions to the letter....... or else we'd do it irreparable harm? "Let's lock the gate.... that horse won't be back" HAR! |

That web site suggests that people are making maintenence errors, I'll agree with that. The biggest concern I have though, is not running it enough. A frequently used bus with a bunch of miles is probably the best product out there. Best thing you could do is run um 4 or 5 hundred miles a day. As for potential error, I don't think there are too many charters putting multi-grade oil in them but people who pick them up for campers probably make that mistake way more frequently. Same thing with the antifreeze. I dare ask how many folks running a bus for a camper know they should not be using antifreeze containing silicone. When a charter turns into a camper most of the conciderations along those terms change. They sit, and sit, and sit. No good. I think that conversion owners might tend to make a few more incorrect assumptions than charter owners too. Thank goodness for forums like this. |
