Help, I cannot find a description of the speedometer in My mc7 manuals. I would assume that the speedo is mechanical? Anyone have any suggestions on how to lube the cable or is this system possibly electrical? Thanks for all the help and the interesting posts. John |

Nice looking coach, John....I know nothing about MCI, but on our Crown, it is a LONG cable... ....and not easy to lube. I started at the transmission end and found other problems, but still have a bit of a "wiggle" FWIW RCB |

John, I haven't owned an MCI but I do know many have an electrical pickup on the front wheel for the speedo. "Hall effect" sensor. HTH Jim Stacy |

John Does this only happen below about 10 mph? Look on the inside of your left front brake drum, for four small magnets, 90 degrees apart, and a "Hall effect" sensor, as mentioned immediately above. The sensor is about an inch and a half long, with two wires coming out of it, and the magnets pass it with about an eighth of an inch or less clearance. At low speeds, my speedo pulses as each magnet passes the sensor. Above 10 or 15, it settles down. If yours is this style, which I think it is, you will have to live with it... HTH, George |

Some of them use bolts instead of magnets, with the bolt head triggering the sensor. Ron |
