I'm looking for an independent ( or retired) DD mechanic in the Southern California area that can handle things that are beyond my level. Does anyone have any recommendations?

bob @ HB Industries has a great reputation. I wasn't sure if by "independent" you meant not an official DD dealer or if you meant freelance. but if you're willing to take it to a shop, he's good, and I'm sure others will have lots more to offer.

RANDY, I too am in So. Calif and have been looking for an Independent DD mechanic. I have been posting on Craigs List but nothing. I have been down to HB industries and Bob seems to be a great guy with a lot of experience in conversions but not sure of his D.D. experience. If you do find someone please let me know
I live in So. O.C. Laguna Hills. I have an MCI 9 with a 6v92. GOOD LUCK.

Bleckert's in Anaheim, Broadway and the tracks, just West of I 5. A very well rounded professional shop, and they do lots of the neighborhood buses.

Don Fairchild in Bakersfield has done some work for TomC on the MAK Board. Don't have his number, might look it up in the Yellow Pages on you computer.

You might try Westcoach in Chino (909-464-1075).

Although they are an IC bus dealer, they are the people to go to for Crown buses. Consequently, they know 2-cycle DD's fairly well.
