Where is the best place to install a seat belt/shoulder harness for Bostrom air ride and Flexsteel co-pilot seats. Need anchor points for shoulder harness.

Thanks,
Paul

Hey Paul,
I've thinking about belts in my Eagle 10. I'm going to stick with lap belts. I could possibly mount the shoulder anchor point behind the drivers side window, but no way for better half, she sets beside me, and it is a long way to the right hand wall.

Keep in mind, that most of the swivel seats are detachable.
That is... the seat comes off the pedestal with a modest amount
of effort of an upward pull.

I'm not too sure you'd want the passenger bouncing around
the interior of the bus during a rollover, with the seat firmly
attached to their arse via a seatbelt...

I'm just looking for something to do inside the coach, been raining a lot here in Texas. So I thought I would tackle this project. Looks like not much advice on where to locate anchor points, so I will look into it and post the results after they are installed.

PAUL: Something that you may want to consider.
I had the very same thoughts and concerns when
I was planning my seating in the cockpit area. I
did not want to use the pedistal type seats for
the safety concerns that I had. I Purchased two new salvage seats that had been removed from a new SUV (leather, 8way power, foldown armrest, and built in lap and sholder straps). The owner desided that he wanted a bench seat instead of the buckets. These seats bolt down to the framework, are better quality, more secure than the ones that are supplied by the RV industry and you will pay less than half. The country is full of salvage Yards that are networked together that could easly find what you may want. This is just a thought that you may want to consider. I did and I am delighted with the confort, quality, and safe feeling I have with these seats. Good luck in your adventure.

Thanks Aruthur, I will keep that in find for sure. Right now just want to install belts in the seats I already have. I decided just to by lap belts for now. In your opinion would your idea be better for the driver than the bostrom I have? Your idea sounds great, Thanks, Paul

Paul
I mounted a leather second row seat, from a KIA Seodona. On topof a bostorm platform, with a little quarter inch strap love the seat a little firmer but no seat belt on the seat. 4905 larry

PAUL: If you plan to install the belts to your existing seats just be sure that they are bolted
down into the framework with high strenght nuts
and bolts. (not just into the plywood flooring)
Would not be a pretty sight if you or your loved
one went flying through the windshield with your
seatbelt still on. Think safety.

All will be bolted down to the seat frames. Already places to do that. Next will be to bolt the co-pilot seat down properly (PO's used lag screws, not good at all), the driver is bolted down good. Thanks for the advice as always.

Some of the seats have the main belt attached to the seat to keep the belt adjustment the same even when you move the seat. Then additional short straps tying the seat down to proper anchors. This gives the safety without having the belt adjustment change.
