Having a bit of trouble getting reverse, the previous owner tells me a solenoid rebuild should take care of the problem, but, when I watched as my wife operated the reverse switch, I attempted to lever it out further, but it seemed to be "out" all of the way. What are the opinions of the board? JME |

Engine running clutch to the floor in 1st gear, flip and hold the reverse switch and shift in to Reverse (2nd gear) Tom |

When my solenoid has failed, I've still been able to get into reverse by having my wife move it by hand after I've shifed into 1st gear. A pair of walkie talkies helps. They are also a boon to backing into tight camping spots. -- Don |

Usually the unit is OK , just real cruddy from its location. Try cleaning it up and see if it works better. FAST FRED |

My soleniod tends to oxidize where the connetion, spade lug attaches to the connetion. This is the soleniod mounted on the top off the 4104 spicer transmission. Like Fred said disconnect the spade lug and clean the connection and the lug with emery cloth. Also be sure it is grounded. |
