I had my motor torn down and rebuilt last year. I have been pleased with it. However the engine is running about 10 to 15% hotter on grades. After reading many other posts here. I went back and checked how the injectors and timing on the new motor was set up. The rebuild paperwork shows the injector size of 4985 were taken out and used over and the injector timing was set at STD LB 162 / STD RB 160. I checked the plates on the motor and inj. timing shows 1.520. Could this small difference cause the motor to run at a higher temp under load with the same injectors. |

Sean, could this be the cause of your heating issue? |

Does your cooling system have Nalcool or equivelant in it? It makes the coolant transfer heat better from the engine to the radiator. |

Bob; You have a california DDEC engine with 3J41 cams. The 162lb/160rb is the cam timing. The injector timing is 1.520. You can set the injectors down to 1.490. that will help some, But I would look at the radiators, water pump, thermostats, fan-fan drive, belts. You don't say what coach you have so I am giving you some general areas to look at. Hope this helps Don |
