9k is about 2 weeks worth of work...and I would think spot on cost wise.

if you go cheaper you might find you got cheaper end product.

Look for the posts from Captain Ron. He raised the roof on his MC9 in about 2 days.

Sounds like a fair price to me. I wouldn't even consider doing it for someone if offered twice that.

Lots of work involved to do it right. Lots of rivets & large pieces of siding to be dealt with.

If done wrong, you could be finding yourself the owner of a ruined bus.

You could try hosting a roof raising rally & get some volunteers to raise it for 'ya.

I don't know why so many people want to raise their roofs. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper and simpler to just have your legs shortened

I can maybe see roof raising if you are fulltiming.

I am 6'66" and have no issues with my 8 the folks 08's or my former 04....I maybe spend 5% of the time in my bus standing and that is just getting from point a to point b

sure more headroom would be nice but down time and cost bring me out of that mode.

I think these coaches are tall enough without raising the roof. Remember there are a lot of lower underpasses when traveling the back woods. Then you add roof warts on top of that. The taller you go the more worries you have bumping into things. I'm not 6' but if I was I would stoop down, less likely to hit your head than the top of the coach.

Raising the roof on an Eagle or MCI is really no big deal. (This procedure WILL NOT work on the GMC's !!!). Yea, it's a lot of rivets and work but U don't have to be a rocket scientist to do it.
What U need is a plan and then do it. I raised the roof on my 05 Eagle with the help of 4 auto bumper jacks. Did it solo, under shade trees and a tarp. Didn't have the luxury of a shed, garage or barn.

Had some help doing the caps and the skinning. If the caps had mot been so bulkie I would have done those solo also.

Check out my article on Tom Hall's web site for a step by step procedure:

http://users.cwnet.com/~thall/gene_lewis.htm

Also read Fred Hobes articles on the same site.

If I can assist just give me a call.

Enjoying the journey in NC,

Gene

When fulltiming a bus can get claustrophobic quickly, even worse in bad weather. A roof raise and careful planning of cabinates, mirrors helps with this. Also with a roof raise 1 1/2 inch of insulation can be added to floor. But I would not spend $9000 for one. If I were in CA I would be happy to do it for a lot less.
