Our front passenger side airbag needs replacing, we have the new airbag (2 actually). How hard is it to replace the airbag yourself, and how would you go about doing it? I did a search but didn't come up with much help. Thanks |

Jack up the bus body using the factory jacking point and block it up. Place jack under the axle, jack enough to remove the tire. Disconnect the airline (allow pressure to escape before removing line completely). Remove bolts from top and bottom plates of the old air bag and remove air bag. Install new bag in reverse order. Tools needed are minimum 12 ton hydraulic jack, blocking to block up the bus, lug wrench or socket and breaker bar to remove lug nuts on wheel, sockets and/or wrenches to remove the air bag monting bolts, and possibly a line wrench to remove the air lines. More "bull work" than anything. Jack |

Soonda, with an air suspension, if you try jacking up any part of the body while the airbags have air, the leveling valve will try to lower the body back to it's starting point by letting air out of the bags. The biggest trouble with this is that if you do the lifting with something that will just start the body moving, it can cause the leveling valve to exhaust all of the air in the airbags that the leveling valve controls. If you tried doing this with a two ton jack, for example, the whole weight of that part of the bus will be put on the jack and something will bend or the jack will go into relief and settle down. If an aftermarket manual leveling system has been installed and the rig is shut off, that shouldn't happen. Be careful. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 Suncatcher Ketchikan, Alaska |

I found if you drive up on some wood ramps like 2x 6s and then hold the body up, the air will let the body down on some blocks that you put to hold;it up. now get a jack and jack the wheels and remove the ramps and that will give you about 4 to 6 inches to let the axle down. It is easier to let the axle down than to jack the whole bus up. MAKE SURE YOU BLOCK THE BODY SECURLEY AND DON'T FORGET IT CAN KILL YOU>>>DEAD> LOL |

Soonda - I'm curious - where did you find a 102A2? And what's the Serial Number/Unit Number/VIN? Thanks!
