Anyone know of a place to find a 4104 center rear window plus rear window left side along Hwys I30 from Little Rock, AR through Texarkana, TX, to Houston via US 59 and then to San Antonio via I10? I thought there might be a bus salvage place along this route since I'm making this trip in two weeks anyway and would like to avoid the high shipping cost. I'll also get two windshields if possible. Used are ok and that is probably all I'll find for the rear anyway. Also, anyone know where I can find the tool to install the locking strip in the rubber gasket? I might be able to make one but will probably need a drawing or some specs. I need to confess I guess. I backed into a tree limb at a buddy's house and poked a hole in the rear. It was already cracked on the outside layer and needed to be replaced eventually anyway-at least that is what I'm telling myself!! |

Rear glass for an 04 is next to impossible to find and nobody makes it. It would be cheaper to put a cap on it or cover with aluminum. If interested I have 2, one is cracked (free) or a good one w/sides for $350.00. The nearest I'll be near you is in December when I go to Florida down I-65 through Tennessee. If interested e mail me. Gus, You are going to be sorry you did in that back glass. They are absolutely impossible to find and are always brittle 50 year old glass. Be very carefull installing, they crack easily. Bob's price is very fair. I understand new rubber can sometimes be found. Now is your decision point.... hmmm....glass or cap? Jim Stacy |

Bob's price is not the problem, getting it from MI to AR is the problem. We both agreed that shipping is just about out of the question. I know I don't want a cap but am considering plexiglas. |

Gus, That center glass has a compound curve. It is probably possible to make a plexiglass replacement that looks good, but I haven't seen one yet. Email me re: MI to AR. I'd like to help, but I don't want to be the one that breaks that glass. Jim |

I've bent both plexi and regular glass. For plexiglass I remember using a two part mold to hold it to shape while cooling. Regular glass can be slumped over a stainless model in a kiln. It would not be laminated or tempered when done. Perhaps a tinting film could be applied to the outside to create some safety. Chuck |
