It depends on just what you want to do. The important part of doing this job is to make sure that the driver's seat and the brake/throttle pedal assembly are very securely mounted - otherwise, a panic stop would toss you and the seat out the front window, or the brake pedal would end up sitting on the spare tire. You will need to take the driver's floor up, except for the little area that sits under the defroster plumbing. Then, you need to fabricate risers for the seat pedestal and the pedals as wll as providing support for the new floor. You will have to make lengthened rods for the brake and accelerator pedals. Raising the floor will make the already difficult job of adjusting the defroster hot water valve almost impossible to do while driving - unless you can come up with another way of controlling the defrost temp. It will also reduce footroom under the dash, and you could end up banging your knees against the dash. It's not a difficult job, but it can make for some uncomfortable seating arrangements. |
