Hello all, Ive been reading this board now for weeks, I just joined after looking over what I think may be my bus. It is a very clean 1974 Eagle 40 footer, conversion is complete, real nice. Not much rust, no squeaks or rattles, everything but the OTR A/C is functioning. Lots of good stuff; Webasto system with bay heat, dual Dytec chargers, new start batteries, 4 new house batteries, 2000w inverter, Kubota 10kw genset on slide with remote, Allison auto with dashmount operation. Most big ticket items have been dealt with in the past year. Any last minute checklists or questions before I lay out the $35k? Thanks for any help!

Have a "bus mechanic" inspect it.

Collect any and all mecanical papers associated with past work done to it. Have the brakes checked before you buy it. Get a though non-partisan opinion regarding bus mecahnical condition.
If it all checks out good, welcome to the bus world!

Happy Trails,

Paul

Definitely have it checked by a bus mechanic or a charter company. Good luck.

Re:
"Not much rust"

How much is "much"? And where is it?

Open and check the electrical panel outside the driver's side, see if there's
rust there. Look carefully inside the bays, and up into the floor structure.
Open the fuel access door, the air bleeder port, etc, and see if there's
rust in the frame at those areas.

Best of all, take it to a bus garage and have it inspected bumper-to-bumper.

Make sure the previous owner gives you all the documentation of all changes
to wiring and conversion equipment.

It's difficult to find a decent "stick and staple" for 35k, an Eagle is a million
times better!!!

Lotsa' luck!
