Does anybody know of a quick and easy way to take a 24 V to 12 V for tow lights. We are getting the hitch installed on Monday and want to get the wiring taken care of after that is done. Thanks in advance for your help. Amy & Scott |

I just got a couple 24 volt bulbs for my tow lights and and a couple for the ones on the dolly and away you go. Took about 2 minutes. |

Two 12vdc bulbs in series will handle that 24vdc input. It's a quick and dirty solution. Just buy some 12v bulb sockets and wire them in series with each feed to the towed vehicle's bulb circuit. Right at the connector is easiest location. BahDahBing - BahDahBoom.... Let's lunch. Or if you're planning on only towing that one particular vehicle, you can use a wiring harness to install bulbs into the light fixtures... BX8869 Bulb and Socket Tail Light Wiring Kit Just use 24v bulbs instead of 12v..... However..... 24vdc bulbs are not usually base-grounded! If you're installing into plastic, there probably won't be a problem... Metal? All bets are off... |

We seem to have the same discussions over and over again on this board, and I never understand why. Typing "12 volt trailer" into the search page turned up 11 previous threads on this subject, and that's just on the first page of four in the results. Have a look at this one: http://www.busnut.com/bbs/messages/233/13265.html -Sean http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com |
