For a long time I wanted a bus and read up and got involved here and some other places. I had found a Crown HIPO I really wanted along with some others along the way. My other interest has always been old trucks as well. Ultimately I found I could satysfy both by buying an old truck which I could participate in ATHS events and also use to move other hobby vehicles. So a few months back I managed to accumulate enough funds to buy a Kenworth W900A truck. I have reconfigured it to pull my 5th wheel. Eventually I intend to buy an older furniture trailer and modify it into sort of a super toy hauler. Front half RV, rear half 2 car stacker. Kind of gives me most of everything I am after. So I am not a bus owner but remain a bus enthusiast. My truck was built near the end of A model production in 1981. It has a BCIII Cummins and a 13 speed OD Roadranger. 8 bag Airglide rear suspension. I have licensed it as a motorhome by modifying the sleeper to comply with my home states rules. I like the versatility but it does lack some creature comforts. I will continue to hang out in here because the RV information is so valuable and I enjoy the content. I, for one, see no reason to exclude you from this or any other group, Kevin. Many of us have experimented with different forms of RV's before we became certified BusNuts. And Thank You for your service to our Country. Bob |

Kevin, Glad your here! I have some real interest in how all the Truck Conversion stuff is going to go. I have helped a friend work on his truck and its many times easier than the bus, it will be interesting to see if this becomes the preferred platform for RV's and by DIYr's as the years go by. Hi Kevin I am also a member of a atique truck club as well as the Historical Construction Equipment Association. A group of us put on an antique power show here in Outville Ohio over the fourth of july weekend. We run antique dozers, draglines and other earth moving equipment as well as farm equipment. There is also a tractor pull, four wheel drive truck pull and semi truck pulls with a antique class. I show three of our 1948 silverside buses and our 1957 PD4104 and push dirt with our antique Cletrac crawler dozers. You are certainly welcome to join us next year for the three day show it sounds like you have interests very much like the group that puts on the show. Tim |

Glad that owning a real bus is not a requirement around here. I still only have my Matchbox! |
