We have just purchased our First bus for conversion which we will do on our own, 68 Eagle/05. My husband says First, which leads me to believe that we will do this again in the future. He works in the motorhome industry and totally remodeled a Class A last year, so we do have some experience. Any suggestions on what we should do with the seats (47 of them). Do we give them as Christmas gifts and convince everyone to put them on their front porches or do we take them to the dump? Any suggestions, greatly appreciated. Lynn |

When mine were removed, I hesitated to take them to the dump as they were in good shape. A woman approached me one time and asked if she could have them for the 4H kids as they made carts for a parade. I told her yes, pleased that I had given them away. after two months, she never picked them up and as I am renting space for the bus, had to remove them from the site. I ended up taking them to the dump but some have had luck giving (or selling) to the bus company if they still have the same type bus running the streets. I had heard where people put them on the front yard for the garbage man to pick up but by night, they were gone, never to see the dump-go figure. I don't think mine had much value as scrap and I have seen where a couple were kept for the kitchen seating at the table. interesting seating if they are the overstuffed type. much luck on your conversion - cd |

The best advice I was given, is that you go for a drive. At every rest area, you remove a seat, take it out of the bus and sit on it for a while looking innocent. When there is a complete change of travelers, you get back in the bus and drive off, leaving the seat of course. I thought I could do better, but should have listened to the wise old bus people, after storing them for years, they went to the scrap heap. |

I advertised the seats from our bus in a truck trader magazine and sold them to a small bus company running MCIs and some GMs. I only asked $650.00, but they were too good to throw out, and now they're gone. DaveD |

I saw a set of bus seats on E-Bay a while back-- that might be an easy way to sell them if they are still in good shape. --Geoff '82 RTS CA |
