Currently at Carlsbad state beach in the bus. Evacuated from Fallbrook, CA Monday. Spent five nights total at the beach. The fire came within 1/4 mile of the house but the house is safe. Electrical power forecast to be back on Nov 8. It's nice to have a bus... and a beach.

Steve,

The most important thing is you are okay. Glad to hear the house didn't burn down. That is an event I would wish on no one. Even though not for the best reasons, enjoy the bus and the beach....

Glad to hear you are OK. My wife's son and family had to evacuate from their home in Tustin, fortunatly nothing was lost and everything is OK. We used to live there and this whole thing strikes close to home.

With you on that one Manny. I ran that one by the wifey. I have to stay if it looks like a cane is coming. I told her it would make me feel better knowing she could take the family and get the heck out. She said she has no desire to drive a bus. AAAARGHH!

There could be worse things then being forced into a bus trip to the beach....

Sooo,,, can you write off the trip or claim it on your insurance/taxes in some way now that you used it for an emergency?

Glad your house is OK.

The fire actually came to within 1/4 mile to the East, North, and West. The area is large but there were very few houses lost. Y'all will be payin more for avocados though.
