Just wondering the proper whey to take the seats out of a9 and if the seats can be spread out to give more legroom. Thanks |

Hi Barry, I have an 8 and don't even have it home yet so take what I say with a box of salt. From talking to the smart people, the seats bolt to the side of the bus and ride in a track on the floor. You can gain leg room by removing a row for sure. I don't know if you can just slide them back. If you would like to have a row face backwards so you can put a table in between two sets of seats you need to swap the seats from the other side of the bus. The attachment points are only on one side of they seats, so the left facing would become the right side rear facing. Soon some one who really has a clue will give you the correct info. But hopefully this will at least get you headed in the right direction. Frank |

turtle';; The seats have a bolt in a rail that will turn about 1/4 and unlock, now you can loosen them [4] two on the side and two in the floor and slid them. to have them facing each other switch sides with one set and re secure thats all folks gomer |

Yes the seats are adjustable as there are tracks that are continuous. you have to remove the track fillers that are between seats and are rubber. Jerry |

Barry - Check the rear sets of seats on both sides, especially if there's a metal bracket on the wall under the windows, partially hidden by the seatback. You'll usually find this across from and right in front of the OEM restroom, and sometimes about half-way in the coach. You may have a coach that came from the factory with reversible seats, 'twas an option. (The wall bracket's for a table that also came with the option.) Quite common on charter and tour coaches, rare on an ex-linehaul unit (Greyhound, Trailways, NJT, etc.). If your lucky enough to have a coach so equipped, there are wing nuts under the seat you can unscrew to release the seat pair and flip them around. Others have given you correct info on adjusting the seat tracks for more leg room, but don't go too far if the seats have foot rests, otherwise they'll be too awkward for folk to use. Removing the seats = undoing four nuts/bolts per seat pair + four strong hands. (Or one teen-age football lineman. Heck, put the whole team to work and all 22 seat pairs will be outside the bus in less than 30 minutes!) FWIW & HTH. . . (Message edited by rjlong on November 01, 2007) |
