I was using a 30amp shore power circuit that got overloaded when I turned on the microwave. I've reset all breakers; but it appears that my Trace 2500 inverter is the source of the trouble. I've got power to the sub-panel that feeds the inverter. The coach circuits go through the inverter. With shore power disconnected, the inverter feeds the coach circuits (albeit at 150+ volts) When I connect to shore power (or genset)... the inverter goes into chaqrge mode, but the coach circuit is dead. Anyone having experience, ideas or know of an electrician in the Antioch, IL area, please call me at 915 479 2411. My internet access is limited. Thanks...dg |

It appears that the pass through relay in the inverter may have failed. I have a similar problem with my Heart inverter, the AC input lamp will not come on unless I plug the coach in to shore power several times. Just haven't had the time to find it. I doubt that an electrician can help unless he knows RV's and inverters. He will probably just tell you to replace the inverter. Call Trace and see if they can help. The 150 volt reading is normal unless you have a true RMS voltmeter, not to worry. Len |

Len is on the right track,I think. I had the same thing happen a several years ago. I shipped back to Trace, that's when they were still made here in the US. They called to say nothing was wrong. They said to turn it on an off several times. That's been a least 10 years a go and it still works. |

There is a 20 amp breaker directly on the front of our Heart inverter. What you describe has happened to us and that was the problem. Even if on shore power we have to watch the amp gauge for inverter power and keep it below 25 amps or that breaker directly on the inverter will trip. The thing is not buried in the basement too bad but enough that after making that mistake a few times we are more careful now. The microwave, coffee pot, toaster or blow drier all need to be used independently, together they will trip it, even on shore power. Our inverter is a 2000w. |

Thanks to all for the input and a special thank you to Jim for the call. The re-set button was covered by a flush installation, butt I finally got to it and was able to get it back in operation. I just signed up for Verizon wireless broadband and in the Circuit City parking lot in Gurnee, Il. as I post this. Guess wireless boradband is the way to go since Starbucks and many of the nationals have been signed up by T-Mobile and others to provide "free wireless" .... if you are a T-Mobile customer! dg |
