I found a leaaking air pressure regulator on top of one of my air tanks this weekend. I was not able to turn it so I'm not sure what it adjusts. Did the older air ride systems use a regulator to adjust ride height instead of limit valves? It's a 1966 model 04 eagle |

Bob, Ride height is a function of the leveling valves on air bag equipped buses, which yours isn't. The leveling valves are bolted to the body, with a link to the axle, and maintain the proper height by varying pressure according to the weight, which couldn't be done with regulators. When the bus was empty, it would ride high, and low when fully loaded, if air pressure in the bags was kept at the same pressure by a regulator. We'll need some more specific info to tell you what the regulator does, please. HTH, George |

More likely the regulated air supply is for an air throttle or other accessory. Jim Stacy |

Yes the bus is a Belgian with air ride. Someone PM'd me with a picture of an air brake part. Called a PR-2 pressure protection valve. It is the same part that I have in my hand. I'll talk to one of my contacts at the INternational dealership here in town today and see if I can get another one. Thanks for all the replys. |

Yes it still has the 6V53 in it,along with the 6 speed zf transmission. My trans. happens to be missing reverse. Lots of teeth in the bottom of the trans. If I see another 04 that would be the second one. P.S. The bus could use a new home. |

Luvrbus, If you happen to see one of the owners with an 04, see if they happen to have any windshields laying around that they might part with. If someone finds the one with the 6v92, tell them to look me up. I have a 6v92and ht740 that I want to put in place of the 6v53. Maybe they have some good suggestions for me. |
