The bus bolt will be located right behind the muffler bearing. Be sure to clean the muffler bearing with a bucket of prop wash before working with the bus bolt. If the rules are not followed the framus valve will implode. John |

I'ts actually best to coat the framus valve with 20wt blinker fluid to prevent implosion before using the highly corrosive (and addictive to hampsters) prop wash. |

NEVER TOUCH YOUR BUS BOLT unless you have first changed the air in ALL your tires...stale and depressurized tire air has been blamed for the majority of inverter root canal failures |

you guys are all wrong about where the bus bolt is. ALWAYS LOOK FIRST BEHIND THE WHEEL 99.9% it is then only loose bolt on the entire coach. |

Also, in rare circumstances, the oxygen/nitrogen mix in the atmosphere of the rear third of the coach may negatively impact your efforts. Further contamination by carbons monoxide and dioxide will decrease effciency. Best combatted by breathing deeply, enter the area and hold your breath throughout the procedure. Bus bolts are not to be taken lightly. happy coaching! buswarrior |

It appears to me that this bolt has caused a bunch of loose nuts. |

What you REALLY needed to do is tighten the bus NUT (Message edited by pete RTS/Daytona on November 04, 2007) |

Since I've got an MCI, and only EAGLEs have bus BOLTS...and my nuts are pretty tight. I think...? Does that mean my only problems would be related to my muffler bearing? BTW, how much does an MCI muffler bearing cost? JR |

Re: "Since I've got an MCI, and only EAGLEs have bus BOLTS...and my nuts are pretty tight. " I heard that Prevost owners have the tightest nuts of all! |

Hey, I found it!!! It's part number 27 in Figure 4-32 on page 4-26 of the MC9 Maintenance Manual. All it says is "Bolt", so that MUST be the one you're looking for!!! You can send my consulting check to Livingston, TX. I'll be waiting! LOL PS: Ooops, I just noticed you have an Eagle. Well, there's LOTS of bolts, but you can't tighten them, they're all rusted solid. Maybe you should leave well enough alone? Hah! |

I think I see why there are so many loose nuts here. Y'all been turning them the wrong way, everybody knows Bus Bolts are left hand thread! Don 4107 PS: My rivets are just fine thank you very much. |

This thread has me thinking that a bunch of the above contributing fasteners have been getting tight a little too often! Jim-Bob |

Oh yeah.. Thanks for reminding me Jim. A healthy slug of Molson Canadian for both the bus bolt and the bus nut should make the whole process go a lot smoother. It may require more than one application... happy coaching! buwarrior |
