Hi, Here are the official Allison MT-640 and MT-650 specifications taken from their 1973 sales brochure: MT-640 and MT-650 Ratios (MT-640): 3.58:1, 2.09:1, 1.39:1, 1.00:1, -5.67:1 Ratios (MT-650): 8.04:1, 3.58:1, 2.09:1, 1.39:1, 1.00:1, -5.67:1 Max input power: 250 Max input torque: 480 lb/ft Input speed (MT-640): 2,200-4,000 rpm Input speed (MT-650): 2,200-3,600 rpm Torque converter ratios: 1.86:1 (TC-380), 2.43:1 (TC-370) and 3.09:1 (TC-350) Regards, Ben (BusNut1981) |

Benjamin On the spec sheets that I have for the 643 and 653 they show max torque input as 640 ft/lbs. Ratio's are the same. I donot have any info on the 647 Joe. |

Joe, Perhaps I can help you a bit on the MT-647. It is similar to the MT-644 except it is electronically controlled. The MT-644 and MT-654CR specs are: Ratios (MT-644): 3.58:1, 2.09:1, 1.39:1, 1.00:1, -5.67:1 Ratios (MT-654CR): 4.17:1, 2.21:1, 1.66:1, 1.27:1, 1.00:1, -10.76:1 Max input power: 300 Max input torque (MT-644): 780 lb/ft Max input torque (MT-654CR): 950 lb/ft Input speed (MT-644): 2,000-3,000 rpm Input speed (MT-654CR): 1,800-3,000 rpm Torque converter ratios (MT-644): 1.92:1 (TC-494), 2.21:1 (TC-495) Torque converter ratios (MT-654CR): 2.21:1 (TC-495), 2.70:1 (TC-497) Regards, Ben (BusNut1981) (Message edited by BusNut1981 on November 08, 2007) |
