Hello, Ya thats right, I went and bought a 66 flxible conversion. Where do I start? Hope I dont scare off the pros in this hobby. Would be great if someone could tell me if I got a good deal or should cash in my chips before I even start. Thanks in advance, |

Hi Cowboy... I'm a newbie too. We bought a '53 GMC 4104-204 a month or so ago. With snow on the ground, and my garage (for the bus and other stuff) under construction, guess I'll be waiting 'till spring to see if I did good or not. Mine is an older conversion, but the drivetrain has been all rebuilt, so hopefully it'll be what we want. Sure does drive nice (no power steering) shifts nice, and goes down the road with ease. Warmer weather will be info gathering on a what and how well all the camping systems are working. I'll be the first to say "Howdy" and welcome... |

I agree with Jack C. It would help to know that information. Good Luck with the new toy and most of all Have Fun! The best thing you could do is to spend hours going over her and getting to know what you have, driving it also helps. Get manuals and Google. There are several Flxible Nuts out there who could help. |

Ken - Welcome to the madness! You'll find lots of help here - read thru the archives and articles of interest for a great education! First thing: Change the oil & filter. If your new toy has a Detroit, make sure it's straight 40wt, CF-2, 1% or less ash content oil. DO NOT USE MULTI-WEIGHT in a two-stroke Detroit. Second thing: Get out and DRIVE IT! Drive it like you just smashed your thumb with a hammer, and do so for at least 50 - 100 miles to clean everything out and get all the juices flowing again. Third: Drive it every month - again 50 -100 miles - to keep everything happy. They deteriorate faster when they sit. Fourth: ENJOY your new toy! FWIW & HTH. . .

Jim, Welcome to the 4104 happy owners fraternity. Your's is one of the older ones around. Jim Stacy has # 076, don't know how many others still around with those low numbers. Also you can register yours at http://www.pd4104.com/index.php which is a 4104 website and has a lot of good info on the 4104. |

Welcome to both of you. I haven't been a busnut owner that long myself, but long enough to know that there is no question you can ask that anyone will say is "stupid" and this bunch of guys will move heaven and earth to give you their best possible advice on any given subject. Just a great group of people and an awsome resource! |

ATTENTION>>>>>>>>> Please do not use the link I posted for 4104.com. I just tried it and got something about Nuclear PHP?? I'm no computer whiz but I think the website has been hacked. I'm not going to use it until I check with Gerald by email. |

There is a couple in JAX, FL with a FLX AND 3 of his children also have FLXs. They were all at a rally last year and had all 4 FLXs parked side by side. Quite a sight. However, none of them frequent the BBs. Jack |
