Can anyone tell me if the hinged drivers window glass was flat or did it have a curve to it? My 4106 has the solid curved glass and I am looking to convert to the hinged assy but getting curved glass is difficult. |

I understand that the replacement fold out type from Penninsula glass leak and rattle, and they are flat. Keeps me from wanting one.>>>Dan |

I have a replacement in my 4106 I don't know where the PO bought it but they have a tag on them that say HEHR or something like that. It does not leak, and no noise that I have noticed, slides foreword so about half the window is open and it has a screen. Same type on the door. Jim |

I have Da Parts Book , and while it does show an 06 hinged drivers setup, the only place I have encountered one is on a 4104. The Penn windows don't leak or rattle , and allow more air to circ while underway , and provide screened ventilation while parked. BUT they don't pivot open as the 04 windows once did to attempt to catch the breeze. The 04 requires a screen attached to the coach body to exclude bugs at speed. And a seperate screening to be built to use when parked. FF |

I have a chance to get an original frame for a 4106 drivers window and still need to know if it is just flat glass that goes into the hinged frame. Schrec |

the 4104 and early 4106's had a Split pane fold open driver and door windows. The single piece glass found in late 4106's and later GM Parlor Coaches are the same and will fit in the split window opening. to answer the first question.. The forward section of glass is curved. I suspect if you can find someone to cut safety glass you could cut down a one peice glass as the curve is likely identicle it is my experience that pretty nuch the only thing you get from Penn windows while going down the road is airflow out the window and noise. no know leaks from my experience unless it was an install error. |

Thanks doug, So i could not have 2 pieces of flat glass put into the original frame,it would need to be curved. On a second note do you still have any windows for a 4106?? |

Correct the forward pane needs to be curved glass using the OEM frame. I think I doo have driver and/or Door glass ( single pane) will have to check if you would like. email me direct at tekebird@yahoo.com |

After reading all this string I had to go out and check my 4104 window. As Doug says, the front half is curved. The Al frame is curved top and bottom so there is no way a flat glass will fit. Since it is not a huge window I see no reason you couldn't bend a piece of 1/4" acrylic with heat and make it fit nicely. |

The one I took out my 62 4106 was curved. I have replaced with Penn glass window with screen and sliding window...neither laeks or rattles and I am very happy with mine. I do miss the air flow from the curved original that open ootward at the front. |

I have just installed a rebuilt 04 setup and the only hassle , so far is when open forward its NOISY. Perhaps its wind noise from an AM antenna mounted on the mirror arm. A test removal is next. Perhaps the noise (but not too much airflow ) will go away when I mount the 04 bug screen. FF |
