Where can I find the by-pass thermostat, p/n 2269269, for my 4104 w/671? Probably no new ones around but a good used one is ok. |

I'm pretty sure nobody makes new ones any more. It actually functions backwards to the main 'stat. You may find one from one of the yards that has old GMs. |

Jim, You're right, I got it from two parts sources and a couple of 4104 gurus that they became obsolete ten years ago, so used is my only hope. |

Turns out I didn't even need one because my original bypass thermostat has been bypassed by a hose directly from the thermostat housing to the water pump suction side so the bypass thermostat is out of the system. It looks as if the housing was changed to allow this hose bypass to be attached in that a boss for the hose fitting was added to the housing. |
