Got ready to move 2505 into a better location, and as the air press. built up suddenly there was a hissing sound coming from the "ICC Brake" valve alongside the drivers seat. Throwing the valve caused the hiss to stop (brakes ON), returning the lever to the OFF position, the hiss returned as well. Several repeated stabs of the brake pedal reduced the hiss substantially to almost completely, depending on how many "stabs" I made. It would appear to me the leak is coming thru the unpressurized side of the ICC/parking AIR brake. Without going to DA BOOKs (which are across town) I am at a loss. Instead of a Jake brake ... I now have a SNAKE brake...! |

Maybe I shold have come rite out and ask... HEY Fred... wazzup with my leak? The Icc valve is NEW and does the same thing as the old one does...hisssss at me. UNLESS I rapidly stab the pedal, then its a 50/50 deal, some times it stops and others it will start hisssssing again. Gimme a clue.. |

When you operate the ICC brakes it uses a shuttle valve to apply the brakes, from a tank , rather than with the tredle. Sounds like the shuttle valve has sone gunk in it , or a bad O ring and is feeding air TO the ICC valve.Or a check valve has gone south. Time to get Da Book and call Luke for a rebuild kit or two.
