Anyone know who I should call to get a new muffler ASAP and a new oil pan soon? I really need the muffler like yesterday - I am really tired of local truck supply places who turn their noses up when you ask about parts for a bus. I have a 1989 Eagle with a 6V92T in it... the same motor in some trucks and fire trucks but these guys are so non-commital when you tell them its in a bus. I have even gone as far as to say coach or tour bus - but still useless... I havent called silver eagle yet but that will be my next direction. Do you think US Coach would have or be able to get the parts? As always thanks for the help...
John

PS: Ian, I know this might get moved to the Flea Market - but I thought to post it here first. Thank you for the great service you provide all of us...

John, I took mine off and replaced it with a straight pipe. I'm very happy. I lost a huge source of engine room heat, lost a ton of back pressure, gained 1/2 MPG. My model 20 had the muffler close enough to the Allison to set a warning light if I ran it hard for over an hour.

My bus is pretty well insulated from the factory and I can seldom tell its any louder than it was with the muffler. It still does not make 1/10th the noise of my 318 bus.

I bought 2 18 in long pieces of flex and a couple short pieces of straight pipe for about $120 at Peterbilt. The rest was from exhisting exhaust.

Thanks for the idea Larry. I ended up calling United Muffler and they have a Mack model number 15 (their item number I suppose) that had the right in and out. it is a lot smaller in length but should do the trick. I will be working on it this weekend. I still haven't found an oil pan so if anyone out there knows of a good place to get one, please let me know.

Happy New Year to All!!! Stay safe!

John and Cindy
