Jonh what all have you done to it to keep it from leaking? When you say lower side or left side, do you mean the end where the oil filler tube and dipstick are at? I had an oil leak problem at that place, and it was not the adaptor at all, it was the oil filler tube base. Another place you might want to look at is the oil filter adaptor.Check your oil level that it's 1 inch below the top of your oil pan. And also check for hair line cracks. If I can be of any help e-mail me. Good luck. AL |

Al thanks for the come back Yes leaks more so on that end where the oil filler tube is but it looks to be coming out all along the engine. I dont think it is leaking from the tube. I will check the 1 inch level. I have changed the gasket 4 times using different glue like high tack,DD,cummings all good at least that is what the big boys say lol. thanks again John 4106 1926 |

Don't know about the 8v, but oil leaks in general can be very hard to find. Your comment about it leaking all along the block-adapter joining makes me think it might be somewhere else, like maybe the breather tubes, and blowing along the block. I've had to Gunk my engine & trans, drive 3 miles, look for the leak, drive some more, check, very tedious. Good luck. Ted. |

There is an addative with florecent dye that can be put in the oil. You use a "black light" and the point of the leak stands out VERY well. Find a shop with the equipment, you will find the leak very quickly. |

John, you can buy a black-light bulb at someplace like "Spencer's Gifts" or any poster, head-shop etc. for a couple of bucks. Along with your basic 110V trouble light, a small inverter and an extension cord and you could be in business. Don't know where you would find the dye though. It's just an option. Good Luck!
