Well we went over to Birmingham today to pick up the FLX. All in all it wasn't as intimidating as I was expecting it to be. Shifting was a non issue. Upshifts naturally seemed to lock in if you shifted at 2100 no double clutching necesary and downshifts at 1500 with double clutch. Motor ran great temp stayed at 160 all day and she cruises right at 70 mph in 5th at 1900 rpm. The only drama was a blowout in a rear tire about 40 miles out of Birmingham. Fortunately our insurance has free roadside assistance and they sent someone out to install a new tire on the side of the road. Unfortunately the only tire in my size we could find was a knobbed but it got us home. One slightly weird thing is that the tredle valve seems to stick in the on possition sometimes with low speed aplication. Any advice as I go to look at that tomorrow? Tim |

Tim, Congrats on the new bus. Check the hinge pin on the treadle. They get a lot of water etc. dripping off the heel of the driver and rust up causing the sticking.A quick fix is WD-40, but it is best to take it apart and clean it. Donn |

Donn, After checking things out the pedal itself is not sticking but rather the exhaust valve in the treadly sometimes is slow to release or sticks. I have to flip the E brake switch dumping all air to the rear to get it to release. I am going to remove the treadle tomorrow and see if I can clean it and get it working smoothly again |
