I am working on my 1960 GMC 4104 with 671DD. When I bought the bus the fuel pump was not working, I bought a new one and was about to put it in when I noticed three holes in three sides of the pump. These holes are probably 5/16 and threaded, I did not disconect any thing from these holes in the old pump, can anybody tell me if they should be hooked to something, plugged or open? Thanks in advance; David Munson |

Sorry it took so long for me to get back on this. I had to work. On mine, I have 3 tapped holes, appear to be 3/8-24 or 1/8 pipe thread and they are located between the pump itself and the mounting flange. I would assume they are to give access to setscrews in the coupling, where used. Good luck! Ted Calvert |

Thank you for your help. I contacted detroit diesel today and they said that those are weep holes to prevent the mixture of fuel and oil if a diaphram in the pump gave out. |
