Does anyone have a template of a V730 trans cutout in the bulkhead of a 4106? I am getting about ready to install my 6V92 with a V730 with a Teal o-drive setup. Thanks in advance olebusman

John
We put a V730 into a 4107 and the cutout was 19" from the cradle mount toward the outside of the bus and 22" from the side of the frame above the cradle mount toward the outside of the bus. You will have to measure the height above the mount to the top of the tranny for your height clearance as I never marked it down. We found that you take out as much as possible in order to be able to remove the tranny at a later date without removing the whole package. Those measurements are a minimum opening. You have to make up a metal piece to go across the bottom of the opening after you install the package to reinforce the outer body. Make it removable for access to the tranny. Hope you can understand these instructions. Bill

The PO for my bus had a well known advertiser that I have seen in BCM do the one on my bus. It works fine but they did a crappy job in the finishing dept. It looks like someone torched the bulkhead out and left it at that. Very disappointing. Also mine does not have the support mentioned. I haven’t noticed that there is a problem without it though.

That is an excellent picture. I saved it for future use for somebody else.

The metal piece under the tranny is only to reinforce the outer bus shell. It was done on any bus that I have seen so there must be a reason. By cutting a larger opening in the bulk head you weaken it from its orginal design.
