I'm at the point where I want to put an awning on my Eagle. Do's and don't will be a great help. I want to purchase the best for the $$ meaning, cut not corners. I want at least 20 footer by 8 foot.

Your thoughts.

Doug, buy you a Zip Dee for your Eagle I have Zip Dee all the way around on my Eagle and never a problem with them. Some are using the electric awning but to me it's just something else to cause problems

Hi Doug,

I have the A&E LA03 24'x 10' lateral arm awning
It is manufactured with 4 coated cables per arm compaired to others with 2 & 3. Also has adjustable pitch.
We have had it now for 2 1/2 years without any bit of trouble. You can pick your favorite Sunbrella colors for them to install in your awning.
It comes with rocker switch, key fob remote, ing. lockout, wind and rain sensors, and a pole for emergency retraction if no electric is available. "Best bang for the buck" many dollars less then Gerard..

Thanks guys, I've looked into both awnings on the web. I guess my question is, is the awing going to roll up above the roof drip or below?. My windows are up to the bottom of the drip seem. Also, will the awning be curved to the roundness of the eagle roof line. I want my awning to look as good as it functions. You Bus Nuts understand, looks goes a long way.
By the way..it's cold here in Connecticut. I'm ready to move back home to South Alabama/North West Florida.

Doug, take a good look at Blue Goose's (Jack Campbell) Eagle. He has Zip-Dee's all around it and they look awesome. I know first hand (don't ask how)! If I could ever get him to stay still long enough in one place, I would order mine from him!
Great BusNut to deal with too!

Doug, they curve the arms to match your roof line on the Eagle.Mine has a 8"raise so they roll up under the drip rail.To me the Zip Dee is the only one that looks good on the Eagle and Prevost FWIW

So I went to the local RV dealership today who is a rep. for Zep Dee. I did not take the Eagle...too cold outside. When I inquired about installing on and Eagle Bus, the price went ut to as much as $3000.00. Furthermore, I think the guy was lost when I tried to expline that my Eagle was a Bus and not a cookie cutter RV. He go's yea, I know a buddy who put an Eagle body on a MCI chassie???. Red Flag went up. I admit, I don't everything but, can you tell me what he was talking about?.
I guess the bottom line is, I want my awning to be installed by someone who understands the differance or, is this something I can do myself?. I do everything else to my rig.

Doug, you can install the awning by your self when you get the railing on the rest is a snap.FWIW a friend of mine bought a 20ft from a guy at busn usa that had 4 for 150.00 ea and were new with everything to install it with. a good buy I bought the other 3 but have since gotten rid of them.3000 bucks is way out of line unless its the electric one

Rutgers was the first to experiment with the simplest and fastest way to de-body your Eagle or MCI for future transplant-

Very few will dislike Zip Dees; the only ones that I would use, just some other brands are cheaper and are pretty nice now. Put it on yourself; it's not that hard and your workmanship will most likely be better than that of any installer.

I thought you guys would say put it on myself. I just wanted to hear it first hand. Well, guess the next step is locating my Zep Dee for this Eagle and buying.

If anyone has a good Zep Dee contact that knows Eagles...I'm in.

Thanks Bus Nuts.
