I saw a school bus recently--it was a Conventional-chassis International diesel. The body looked a lot like a Blue Bird, but was missing the trademark bird & stripe above the windows. Behind the front door was a tag (about 10" long and 2" high) that said "VOLUNTEER". Anyone heard of this? Is it a Blue Bird under a different name? |

'Volunteer' is a model name for Ward/Amtran school buses. They are built in Conway, Arkansas. HTH, Ray |

Is it owned by/affiliated with Blue Bird at all? The ONLY difference I saw (admittedly from 20' away at 40MPH) was the lack of the bird & stripe. |

No, they are completely different companies, like GM and Ford, but they are similar in design. Actually, I have thought that the newest Blue Birds have taken a very strong resemblance to the 5-10 year old Amtrans. Ray |
