Just returned from NJ to NM (2000 mi.) in a weekend w/wife and brother in a NJ Eagle Model 20.
Bus is in great shape. Going to get started.
Any one else found this site yet? Let's get together here and discuss our options.

Are you sure they removed the R22? Mine was serviced. You can hang beef in it.

Home today from picking up my NJ Eagle 20. Drove 2500 miles home to south Texas and the bus ran really good except for a problem with the DDEC computer shutting down during morning warm-up (kill power to reboot and all works fine). I will find a shop that understands DDEC to connect a reader and tell me what the problem is but if anyone has any experience with such a problem please speak up... other than that the trip was very uneventful. - Greg

had an mc-8 with an 8v92 ddec in it and did the same thing, ended up being low water, would only do this when cold due to the fact coolant expands when heated. you might have a look and see if thats your problem

Picked up my NJ Eagle 20 in June and have started to work on it. I've noticed excess rust on the latches and arms on the cargo bay doors. Does anyone know where replacement parts can be found?
Are they the same as on the eagle 15?

Here is a link (http://www.busesonline.com/yardsale.htm)with some numbers for you to call. Jefferson in OK City is a good bet. - Greg

I converted my Eagle 20 from air to electric start this morning. The bus starts perfectly and the air builds up so much faster without the starter air tank. As part of the conversion, I replaced the two 8D batteries with three group 31 batteries so now I have one empty slide. I used 4/0 cable from Home Depot and aluminized copper wire ends from a local electrical supplier to connect the batteries together. Very pleased with the results.

I'm considering purchasing a NJ Eagle 20, but I'm wondering what the differences are between a Model 20, and a Model 15. Would someone mind explaining the differences? Is the Eagle 20 a better bus than the Eagle 15? Was anyone abel to get any records, such as engine and trans. mileage for the NJ Eagle 20's? Thank you for the info.

I have a voltage problem with my 1984 Eagle 10 6v92. The gauge climbs up from 13 to 15 volts and back dowm again. It just started after 40,000 miles of driving. I cleaned all the battery connections, new belt, and had the alternator checked out. Any ideas???

I would check the voltage with a seperate gauge to see if this is a gauge related problem or a charging system problem. You didn't say the time period that it takes to go up and then to go down. Does the gauge fall down immediately stay awhile and then and go up over minutes? If the gauge is correct then I would check the voltage regulator (adjustable). Another thing to check would be the diodes in the alternator to make sure you are passing voltage from each.

I usually drive about 50 miles before it starts up fairly slowly and than drops back slowly. It may not bother for a 100 miles or so. I am going to check out the gauge first. Other ideas???
