Can you tell Spring is getting closer? My questions sure are...

I'm wanting to install a hitch on my 4104 this spring. I searched the archives & found some good reading, but most of the yahoo pics have been yoohoo'ed.

Any updates for pics available? Any new ideas since the '05 & before posts in the archives? I have a good Bud who is a welder/fabricator in the food processing machinery (re:stainless steel) industry. Is Stainless a good choice for the links? I'm thinking I'll buy a premade 2" receiver (or have a custom SS receiver built) & go with your recommendations as to tie in points. The trailer will be around 3000# total (S/A, electric brakes, 6 x 12, w/two Harleys).

Any sites, pointers and/or pics for me to follow??

Sure appreciate the time.......

Stainless is not the best material for a trailer hitch.
You should build a hitch that extends forward and attaches to the structure of the bus, like where the radius rods attach. The engine cradle and the rear bumper of the 4104 are made of aluminum and the engine/trans/cradle is suspended in front by two attaching points on the bulkhead and at the rear by the two big rods that you see coming down when you open the engine door. The rear hangs from the roof structure. It's a lot like an airplane. All that being said, folks have dragged 6-10,000lb trailers around with these buses. Keep the tongue weight reasonable, spread the attachment points at the rear with backup plates, etc. & extend some arms forward as mentioned & you shouldn't have any problems.
