I need some advice on what some of you are using. Wireless-wired? color or B/W? Big camera or little license plate camera? Does anyone know if I could plug a camera into a laptop? I am thinking of having a laptop running gps beside the drivers seat. Any input would be helpfull

Jim....I have a HF B&W which is "satisfactory" at best. Wired into an HD TV over the front, twixt driver and pax. They have a color unit available, but there are considerations. They are night/day cameras. Less than 50 bucks.

Mine shows right side -left....left side -right. Can be changed, but I am not going to mess up the TV to do it. Also, not a wide angle lens. Best for us, at tight places is for the pax to get out and "direct" with the help of the camera. There are units, as I understand, that will give you feet and inches as you back up to an object. Costly, I imagine.

Mine is mounted at the top rear center of coach; TV is by the driver with approx 9 inch screen. Mine is b&w and has night vision. Looks like flood lights are on when backing up.

I bought ours from Rv Cams, same place as Nick. I am satisfied with the performance and the price was right! They are great to deal with. Upon arrival I noticed the monitor was broken, I called and he sent one out right away, no questions at all. Great folk.

I tried the laptop with gps thing using copilot software. It was pretty cumbersome. A TomTom ended up being more effective.

One cool thing is google earth live tracking on your laptop. It looks like a plane is following you. Requires a cellular data connection. Lets you see what is over a fence or hill. It is more for entertainment. The novelty wears off after 30 minutes or so.

Interesting...I've used the laptop/Co-Pilot for years with no such experience. My wife even takes it on her trips in her auto, to other states, to see the grand babies.

And the upgrade price for version 11 is right....

FWIW :-)

Different strokes for different folks. For us the laptop is better because of the larger screen. Now if I could just make our laptop a "touchscreen" like the small GPS units. Jack

I use Co-Pilot and a Panasonic Toughbook "touchscreen" Both are the best!
