I am trying to compile a list of running converted 4104's does anyone know if this has been done already and if so where I can find it. I have pictures and some info on 37 running converted 4104's so far. I would like to start a group of 4104 owners maybe a club so we can all have resources to work with as a group. I am really having fun with this bus and would enjoy a 4104 rally at some point in the future when ours is road worthy, I am not by any means trying to oust other types of busses, the 4104 is just my favorite. I think my blood is turning to diesel. |

I am a member on the yahoo group but there are a lot of busses out there that are not represented, Good deal Austin, Bernie I thought it would be a good thing as well. I am a web developer among other things and was thinking of building a site and hosting it for a 4104 club. My wife and I thought it would be very cool if in the future we could have a convoy of 4104's heading down the hiway to a beach somewhere and spend a weekend or week with like minded people. New friends, new resources, good food and lots of fun. |

If anyone is really interested, send me some images 1-3 of your bus and a short bio you would allow to be posted on a site and I will build a sample site and see if everyone likes it. Might be fun. I will build in an administration page so you can edit your own section as well as a forum, classifieds etc etc..It will take me a few weeks but I think we can get something started. |

Could be logistical barriers to club rallies, since we are so scattered across the country. We are based in southeast Florida during the winter, and wander throughout the summer. Kirby & Linda 4104-4138 |

Yes but we could tie groups together that are in those different areas and they could have different rallies for the different areas, the effect would be the same getting us together with other 4104 owners. If those that travel alot were to go through those other areas they could meet up with that areas group. Maybe a newsletter or something like that to keep up with plans and rallies. I don't think it would be a problem with the logistics in this case. |

I like all the ideas that have been presented so far. I would like to get together with other owners, even if just for a short weekend with a few brats and a beer or two! PD-4104 4139, a 1959, resides in northern Minnesota and is getting better every day. |

I am starting a web site this weekend, I will build it let everyone know as soon as I get it on the internet. I have received a few pictures and info and will add those as well and the owners can go in and edit them when I put the site up. I do think this will be fun. |

Gerals, Thanks for your interest and efforts. I tried a couple of yahoo sites but they want far too much personal information with no valid promise of what they will do with your personal data. In fact, a few years ago, when they were having financial problems, they sold personal data after promising not to do it. Sure can't trust them since then. Some guys are comfortable with disclosing personal data but I really resent the way companies completely ignore privacy concerns. |

I agree about the yahoo groups and the personal info, my other problem has been when requesting information I usually get the same or close to the same answers that don't fit my particular problem at the time and several are costly solutions. I really enjoy the bus nut forum and get so much useful info I decided to start putting my effort towards what I enjoy. I am not working at the moment due to a disabling injury and the work on our bus has slowed down so I am working on the site to help supply a much needed venue for 4104's and other busses. I hope everyone gets the same thrill out of these busses as I do. My wife and I are hoping to retire into this bus and travel extensively when it is complete. We will definitely want to meet all the friends we have made here on the forum. I am an electronics technician, business analyst, developer, db admin and a musician. I have done a lot of different things in my life and they are now paying off. I am doing all my own electrical, plumbing, construction as well as body work and painting so I always have questions. I have also owned and operated several companies so I have built a wide assortment of resources that I can use here. This should be a fun and interesting endeavor. I will keep everyone updated here and on the site. Thanks again for all the interest, suggestions and help. I was asked a question earlier by email and I thought I would answer it here so everyone would know. Question – Are you building the website and how are you coding the site? Answer: The first version is being built on a generic site tool so that I can get something up quickly, it will be a basic site and temporary. I cannot sit for very long intervals so I am a little slower than normal. Within the next couple of months I will bring up a new site coded in C# on Microsoft’s asp.net framework and SQL 2005 database, this way I can program into the site all the needed security and functions such as administration pages and user pages as well as forums, albums and the such etc.. I would like to add. This is where my developer training has taken me so I use what I know. I am hoping that this site will be a very good and extensive tool. |

Please take a look and register as users and I will approve them and start adding conrtent. pd4104.com. I will also send instructions once I have everything running. I added a couple of banners to the top of the page, one is my wifes website and the other is BNO |

We are the proud owner/occupants of PD4104-2977, a 1957, retired 'hound. The interior has been refurbished [we started 2''06] and have just a few touches to finish. The roof is next along with the rest of the exterior. There is a listing of GM owners in the database on GMC-Bus-Nuts. Blessings, David PD4104-2977 Winton, CA. |

If you would like your profile and bus pictures added to the site please click on submit news and enter the info you would like published, email me the pictures at gnorman46@gmail.com and I will add them. Use members for the topic when you post your profile. I will code in a script so you can add your own pictures in the future. If there is already a profile for you it is only a sample and I can delete that once you make your own. If you like the pictures in the sample profile just let me know and I will add those and you dont have to email them again. Thanks |

Things are changing on the site, you can now upload links and pictures directly to the website so no need to follow the previous instructions, I will not post further instructions on this thread because they are changing as I get used to the admin sections of the site. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. Please visit the site and check it out. Thanks to one of our first registered members we now have the following manuals for the PD-4104 Maintainence Manual, Operators manual, DD671 Manual and the 4104 alternator, 12 volt positive to negative conversion manual. I checked your web site. Very good idea I must say, and very well put together. I truly hope it draws a lot of PD's to it. They are wonderful looking coaches. I had thought of doing that for Eagle's, just don't know the right way to do it. You look like you know how. Good Luck |

Actually my web skills are in c# and dot net but I am using a portal for this site so I did not have to build it all before putting it up, seems to work real well and I can program the coding as well if needed. It is called phpnuke. I am having fun with it and we have 17 registered users as of this morning. We have been up almost a week. |

I would like to thank everyone for making the pd4104.com site come to life, we have had more than 9000 actual hits to the site in the short time it has been up and running. Just bought a 4104...1954 Serial 1187. Did a little reseach, found it was originally bought by Brooks Bus Lines, Paducah, Kentucky. I bought it from a guy who told me he purchased about 10-12 years ago in St. Louis and was told it ran from St. Louis to Chicago at one time. He bought it from a gospel group "The Crusaders" The name is still both sides (painted) and on the rear plate. Today, I turned over the plate (middle rear, above license plate) and found it has lettering "St Louis Bay" on the underside. ??? I would love to find more history on my "new love". BTW I love this and the 4104 web page!! |
