WE HAVE JUST COMPLETED A WINTER TOUR OF THE SOUTH AND EAST USA. WE PUT 10,000 MILES ON OUR 4905. THE STEERING BOX HAS A LITTLE PLAY IN IT. IT IS A SHEPPARD, POWER STEERING. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE BOUGHT A REBUILT UNIT SUCH AS THIS. IF SO WHERE AND ABOUT HOW MUCH? THE U-JOINTS IN THE STEERING TRAIN ARE ALL TIGHT. THE PLAY SEEMS TO BE ONLY IN THE STEERING BOX MOUNTED CENTER OF THE FRONT AXLE. ANY ADVICE OR INFORMATION WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. |

I ahd my steering box replaced at US Coach in NJ. Luke did a great job on my 4905 and I can npw go down most Interstates and relax behind the wheel. It seems to me I paid a little over $1000 with labor. I know they replaced a couple of lines to be safe. My coach fells like a brand new one now I try to drive around 60-65 and I have very little wonder and I now I have some worm gear adjustment which I didn't have before. Call Luke for Qoute. Mike |
