the low air warning buzzer is working backwards on my 62 4106. No buzzer or LOW AIR light after starting from 0-90 lbs of air pressures. When it reaches 90 lbs, dash LOW AIR light comes on and buzzer starts buzzing and contiunues until I pump air down below 90 when both go back off. I have temporarily disconnected, but need to fix since to operate without it is unsafe for me. Any clues?
Thank you in advance

Have you recently done anything to the wiring or replaced any electrical components? Jack

Jim,
Jack poses a good question, and in case you did, (or in case you didn't) here is a suggestion. Many switches are what is called "double throw," which means they have three contacts, which are labeled NC (normally closed) NO (normally open) and COM (common.) If yours is equipped this way, the two wires on it SHOULD be connected to the NC and COM. Otherwise, you have a BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH installed, (NO) instead of a LOW AIR SWITCH, (NC) guaranteed! A two terminal brake light switch should close on less than 90 lbs, but this is what it has to be!

Hey...thanks for the repsonses. I installed a am/fm/cd player in dash and was fooling around in the electrical panel, next to drivers seat.. Not sure of what type switch is . I disconnected wire from air switch in compartment below drivers seat but was difficult to see. Should I remove it and replace?

Jim,
The pressure switch may have been wired to a relay, with the NC/NO function there. Obviously a wire got removed, and replaced on a different terminal, now we just have to figure out where.
Lots of possibilities, maybe a loose ground wire, although I don't think so. If you have a wiring diagram, and want to e it to the address in my profile, I'll be glad to guess a little closer, otherwise someone with another 4106 will probably help.
Regards,
George

HEY...thanx again to all for the replies. I will check my wiring again to see if I may have crossed something during my radio installation.

__. It may not have made much difference in this case, but I've been getting in the habit of shooting digital pictures of anything before I touch it. It's amazing how many questions you can have "later".

Bruce has one of the best pieces of advice for every aspect of bus conversion.

Digital photo costs nothing.
Take hundreds of them, and then a few more.

Not taking note of how something was originally?

Catastophic!

Some of those photos may only have significant meaning years from now, but you'll be really glad you took them!

happy coaching!
