Well, after my last trip and the leg cramps I got from pushing the old cable throttle down. I knew something had to be easier. So, I started hunting for an air throttle setup. Most I found were $500 or more. Then I found Ron the Bus Nut's website and he advertised an air throttle setup for $199 and an additional $28 for the air line and fitting kit. I ordered right away. About 4 days later it came in. Although it had no instructions, I had it installed within a couple days. All I can say is WOW what a difference! It takes a little getting used to as it pushes very easy and only has about 2 inches travel in the pedal. I put it on my MC7 with a 8V71. If anybody is planning an air throttle conversion on their 8V71, email me and I'll tell you how to make brackets and mount them. Youl also need to make up a piece of linkage about a foot long. |

Lee, My solution to that problem was to install a King cruise control. Now I can drive with my feet up on the dash in real comfort. Not only is the bus more pleasant to drive the fuel mileage is better. If my cruise were to fail I would buy another right now. King gets about $900 for a cruise control complete kit. I called them yesterday after I read Sam 4106's post. Paul T6H5308A MCI 5C |
