looks like we have a trip coming up in July from Seattle to Winterpark. Have been looking at mapquest and I'm familiar with the route including I80 from Salt Lake to Cheyene, but it routes me off of 80 to 130 south then 230 and 125 into Winter Park. Anyone driven this route before, what have I got to look forward too? Any good camping along that route? Any good places to stay in Winter Park, 40 ft with 50 amps if possible. Thanks RJ |

Rick, FWIW, my Motor Carriers' Road Atlas shows that entire route as a truck route. Can't speak to RV parks in WP. -Sean http://OurOdyssey.BlogSpot.com |

Rick That route is very pretty. For the most part it is mountain driving from the Colorado border to Winter Park but no high mountain passes. If you take I80 to Cheyenne then I25 south to Denver I70 to US40 up over Berthoud Pass to Winter Park, it is mostly interstate driving but you go over a 11300' pass. If you take the interstate way I have a place to stay north of Denver on your way through. I am not familiar with places to stay around Winter Park, but get reservations early as this is a popular spot in the summer. |
