I had the 4905 serviced where they lifted the rear up with a jack like a fork lift and then had 2 tires fixed on the rite side rear.
Left for Chyenne, WY. all the way there every hole or line across the Highway 3inches wide or more banged loud and felt like a dead alel hay wagon. This went on all the way until a hundred miles from home. A truck was passing and a very loud noise at left rear like tire blowout and dust. Didn't know if was me or truck, the truck felt the same. He stopped as I did which he was sure he had hit us. The two of us checked both vehicles very well, found nothing except a little bit of burned rubber smell around the left side rear of the bus.
I drove very slow for a ways had no problem at all except the bus drove like it should have with no loud bangs when we hit the bumps.
Anyone got any ideas. Thanks for the Thots

Gosh, that's scary. Sounds like something got out of wack when they lifted it up then finally settled. I don't know anything regarding your coach, just a thought. Can you look underneath and see any shiny spots or anything you might find unusual? Maybe a shock? Check for any tire scrubbing on the inner dual.

When you jack the bus in that manner, the axle hangs by the airbags, I think. The book says that is a big no-no. Did you check the bags and surrounding hardware yet? Doesn't explain the bang though, unless the bag blew and you have no suspension.

I since have checked and looked at about all I can see. I do have air single corner leveling. Over the road level seemed to be alrite and at no time did loose air presure, seems to take over 7
hrs to loose air after parking.
The hard banging thru the trip sounded like metal to metal. Sure like the come back as its a real concern. I will continue to look as there is no real bus shops in town. Thanks all Larry

Sounds like the remaining airbag/s let go;esp, when you say it was banging over the bumps.

John could the airbags let go and still have regular air pressure? Larry

Sounds like something may have been left under the bus that hampered the movement of the suspension till it came out. Check closely the axle, suspension and engine/trans areas. Look for gouges or clean spots. Block the bus before going under..Cable

How are your brakes? I had a loud noise from the rear, the snap ring had come off freeing up the adjuster. Made for a real loud noise. I do not think a passing truck would have heard it though?

You should have a leak if one of them left go unless it messed up leveling valve in the process. Did you look at the inside duals? maybe lost some tread OR something that they used as a spacer to keep body from dropping on them while they changed the tires, such as a spacer between the axle and rebound bumper. Maybe it (possibly a block of wood) finally fell out, making a lot of noise on the way out. The service manual talks about using a 10 inch by 3" id. spacer between axle top and rebound bumper to prevent coach from dropping while working under there or changing air bag, etc. That would match your symtoms.
